TAKAFUL Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd (TBK) organised an Islamic Financial Planning Briefing and Booth for the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) at the auditorium of the RBPF Headquarters in Gadong yesterday.
Director of the General Administration and Finance Department of the RBPF Mohammad Zulhilmi bin Haji Omar Ali was the guest of honour.
Deputy Director of the General Administration and Finance Department of the RBPF, Senior Superintendent of Police Haji Zaini bin Haji Abdul Rahim, along with officers-in-charge of police districts, heads of division and formation, officers and personnel of the RBPF were also present.
Chief Corporate Services Officer of Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd Pengiran Haji Mohd Suffri bin Pengiran Hashim in his welcoming speech said the briefing was held in support of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s titah stressing the need for Islamic financial planning.
He said that in line with His Majesty’s titah, the Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) and several agencies under the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) have staged a series of Financial Awareness Roadshows at higher education institutions to enhance awareness on financial planning and savings, in conjunction with National Savings Day 2019, and as part of efforts to realise the Brunei Vision 2035 objectives of achieving a dynamic and sustainable economy.
Pengiran Mohd Suffri added that TBK is taking the initiative to share the importance of Islamic financial planning through the Takaful method, with the briefing touching on the history of Islamic financial planning and its components, and Islamic financial planning through the Takaful method.
He also said the briefing and roadshow will later be held at all departments, formations and stations under the RBPF to enhance the officers’ understanding on the importance of a saving culture and financial independence, financial literacy and protection (Takaful).
Following the welcoming speech by Pengiran Mohd Suffri, the Doa Selamat was recited,followed by the presentation of a souvenir to the guest of honour prior to the start of the briefing.
