TAKAFUL Brunei Keluarga (TBK) Sdn Bhd conducted a briefing for over 100 students of Politeknik Brunei at Raja Isteri Girls High School (STRPI)’s Lecture Theatre yesterday.
The briefing, titled ‘TBK 50 Cent Challenge’, was conducted by Nooramal Fitriyah binti Abdul Rahim, Senior Executive Officer, Sales and Training Unit, Sales Department of TBK.
The briefing was aimed at raising awareness on the importance of saving money to better plan for the future.
Participants were challenged to set aside 50 cents a day until they graduate. She said the challenge sought to encourage the younger generation to start saving money for future financial stability.
“For example, a student who starts saving 50 cents a day can end up with approximately $365 within two years; the money will be an incentive to manage their future finances,” she added.
“We extend the challenge to all students in Brunei to start saving 50 cents a day every day until the day they graduate.”
“The challenge is in line with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s titah,” she said, referring to His Majesty’s emphasis on how saving a small portion of money can help benefit not only themselves, but also their family and the country in the long run.
She added that TBK has Takaful plans to help students save money with protection.
