TEN Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd (TBA) operational facilities and sites owned, rented or shared to TBA recently received a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Management System (MS) and HSE manuals from Joffren Omar Company Sdn Bhd (JO) in an official handover ceremony in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The HSE Management System was handed over by Pengiran Mohd Noor Joffren bin Pengiran Omar, the Managing Director of JO to Barudin bin Haji Kudil, General Manager of TBA.
The event was witnessed by Haji Shahrildin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Utama Dato Paduka Haji Jaya, the Acting Managing Director of Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd.
TBA is the first insurance company in Brunei Darussalam to have an established HSE Management System – developed and published by JO under the lead of Lowey Jee R Palma, the Head of JO’s Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) department and four JO HSSE officers.
TBA’s commitment to employee welfare and vested interest towards promoting and practicing HSE within the organisation and their customers has led it to engage JO’s expertise in developing this HSE system.
The HSE Management System also assists in TBA’s prudent risk management strategies for the benefit of its corporate clients, at the same time building trust and confidence in the quality of their services.
The project commenced at the end of April 2017 and was completed in two months; risk assessment and site visits were conducted during the first month of implementation, while documentation writing and review was done in the second.
The training needs of TBA’s employees were identified and recommended by JO during the formulation of the HSE-MS system and HSE manuals, which are aligned to Workplace Safety and Health Order 2009 regulations.
