20th June 2024 – Takaful Brunei held a Korban meat distribution Ceremony in conjunction with the celebration of Hari Raya Aidil Adha for the year 1445H/2024M at Kampong Pengkalan Batu Mosque.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by Yang Mulia Imam Kamayarif bin Hj Othman, Imam of the mosque. Present to distribute the Korban meat as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Haji Shahrildin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Utama Dato Paduka Haji Jaya, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Takaful Brunei.
The Korban was from the personal contribution of Takaful Brunei Korban employees and families, with a total of 7 buffaloes were sacrificed for the event that were then distributed to families in need and orphans around Kampong Pengkalan Batu and Kampong Batong.
The distribution of Korban meat is part of Takaful Brunei’s annual activities in commemoration of the story of the Prophet Ibrahim AS’s test of faith when he was commanded by Allah Ta’ala to sacrifice his most beloved son, Prophet Ismail AS. At the very point of sacrifice, Allah Ta’ala replaced Prophet Ismail AS with a lamb (ram), which was to be slaughtered in place of Prophet Ismail AS.
