Motor Class
At present, Motor Takaful Scheme is the largest portfolio for the General Takaful Business of Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd (TBA).There is two products offered under the Motor Takaful Scheme and the inventory is as follows:
I. Motor Private which consists of individual social car and motorcycle; or
II. Motor Commercial covers those vehicles that are commercially used; with the purpose of profit-making.
Scope of Cover
Comprehensive Cover
Section 1
• Accidental collision or overturning of the participant’s own Motor Vehicle;
• Fire, external explosion, self ignition, lightning, or burglary housebreaking or theft of the Motor Vehicle;
• Malicious Act
Section 2
Indemnify the Participant if the participant shall become legally liable to pay in respect of:
• death or bodily injury to any third party.
• damage to property of the third party
Third Party Cover
Similar cover as in Section 2 of the Comprehensive Cover
Understanding ‘Excess’
Excess is the amount that you or your authorised driver has to bear in the event of a claim. Currently, there are five (5) types:
1) Certificate holder (or Named Driver) Excess
2) Authorised Driver Excess
3) Territorial Limit Excess
4) Fire and Theft Excess
5) Young and Inexperienced Driver Excess
Example:
Cost of Repair: BND$5,000.00
Excess Payable by Owner: BND$500.00
The customer has to pay the Excess of BND$500.00 to the workshop and the remaining balance borne by TBA.
Products
Commercial Motor
This scheme is not only a mandatory requirement under the Road Traffic Act, it also offers a comprehensive coverage to the participant.
Objective
This takaful coverage help to ease your financial burden in the event of mishap due to road accident.
Scope of Cover
Additional Perils (optionals)
• Indemnity to Participant or its authorised driver against any liability which may attach to him in consequence of any third party being injured / death by the use of the vehicle.
• Indemnity for liability in respect of damage to properties belonging to the third party in consequence of the use of the vehicle covered.
• Indemnity to Participant for the loss or damage to the vehicle covered or its spare parts following theft or accidental collision.
Third Party Cover
• Indemnity to Participant or its authorised driver against any liability which may attach to him in consequence of any third party being injured / death by the use of the vehicle.
• Indemnity for liability in respect of damage to properties belonging to the third party in consequence of the use of the vehicle covered.
Territorial Limit
Negara Brunei Darussalam, Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.
Additional Cover
Additional cover such as excess buy back, flood, passenger liability, windscreen, and other accessories are approved only for comprehensive cover.
How to Claim
Participant is required to report to any nearest Police Station within 24 hours and also to TBA within 7 working days from occurrence of accident.
