THE Indian Association of Belait (IAB) organised a charity food fair at their premise in Seria on April 30.
The fair saw more than 250 visitors where various local and Indian cuisines were sold.
The fair was organised to provide an opportunity for the community to contribute towards supporting those with a low income category with regard to insurance as well as creating an awareness of getting insured.
Renjit Gopalakrishnan, General Secretary of IAB, in his speech said IAB came up with the scheme in 2013, where IAB committee members started visiting small income workers in small shops in Kuala Belait and Seria to explain to them the benefits of the scheme in terms of any contingencies that might happen to them.
A presentation was also delivered by Mohammad Fuad Hamdi bin Pehin Dato Haji Salim, Assistant General Manager of Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd, where he described the various aspect of the scheme.
