Takaful Brunei held a Korban ceremony at Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque in Kampong Jerudong recently, in conjunction with the Aidiladha celebration.
The ceremony was attended by the mosque committee, Takaful Brunei Korban participants and 34 underprivileged families from Kampong Jerudong. Four buffaloes, contributed by Takaful Brunei participants, were sacrificed.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by the Imam of the mosque.
Takaful Brunei Managing Director Haji Shahrildin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Utama Dato Paduka Haji Jaya distributed the meat.
The event marks Takaful Brunei’s annual activities in commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s test of faith when he was commanded by Allah the Almighty to sacrifice his most beloved son, Prophet Ismail (pbuh).
